Field IT Support Technician

Location : San Francisco Bay Area (on-site at client offices, primarily San Francisco, Foster City, Burlingame, San Jose) Compensation : $75K–$85K Company Overview Hi, we're Foxcove. Role Overview This is a driving-intensive, client-facing role: you'll travel to a different client office almost every day, 4-5 days a week, across the Bay Area. As a Field IT Support Technician, you'll be the face of Foxcove - providing hands-on technical support across workstations, servers, cloud services, printers, networks, and client-specific hardware and software. This role is built for someone with foundational IT experience who wants to learn fast. You'll be exposed to a wide range of technologies and industries, and the pace is designed to turn that foundational knowledge into real, well-rounded expertise within a year or two. Key Responsibilities Travel daily to client offices throughout the Bay Area (San Francisco, Foster City, Burlingame, San Jose, and others), 4-5 days per week. Provide on-site, hands-on support for a range of IT issues, from basic troubleshooting to system configuration. Handle onboarding and offboarding for client employees - account setup, equipment provisioning, access changes. Provide in-person, walk-up IT support at client sites, resolving tickets escalated from our help desk team through our ticketing system. Support on-site network troubleshooting and basic network management. Maintain clear documentation and flag recurring issues or areas for improvement across client systems. Assist Engineers and Managers on larger projects and initiatives as your skills grow. On non-travel days, handle remote ticket resolution, project work, and documentation from home. Requirements 1-2 years of technology support experience, with a strong desire to grow quickly. Working knowledge of Windows and Mac OS troubleshooting, plus a ticketing system. Comfortable picking up new platforms quickly - you'll get hands-on exposure to Microsoft Azure, SharePoint Online, Office 365, GSuite, MDM tools, and various ITSM platforms (e.g., Jira, Confluence) on the job. Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to adapt quickly to new environments. Clear communicator who can explain technical concepts to non-technical people. Valid driver's license and reliable vehicle for daily travel between client sites (mileage, tolls, and parking up to $30/day reimbursed). Comfortable working from a different office environment most days of the week. Enthusiasm for using AI tools to problem-solve and drive efficiency in day-to-day support work. Nice to Haves College degree in an IT-related field, or relevant certifications (e.g., CompTIA A+, Network+, Security+, Microsoft Azure Fundamentals). Prior networking experience. Experience supporting multiple industries or a diverse client base. Compensation & Benefits Compensation: $75K-$85K Mileage, tolls, and parking reimbursed up to $30/day for client-site travel, in addition to: $300/month toward gym, cell phone, and internet $500/year for certifications, plus paid study time and mentorship Generous PTO, paid holidays, and a 1-week winter closure Health, dental, vision, and 401(k) What to Expect Interview process: Virtual screen, virtual technical/scenario-based interview, and an in-person final round.
