Job Description

Job Title: Engineering Technician Location: Mundelein, IL (onsite) Duration: 2 Months Contract

Client is currently seeking an Engineering Technician to join the team on an immediate basis. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in supporting Engineering, Quality, and Production departments by ensuring the efficient operation and maintenance of our lab environment.

Responsibilities:

• Manage the organization and upkeep of all lab equipment to ensure optimal functionality.
• Operate a variety of test equipment, including Torque/Tension, Tensile, Hardness, and more, as outlined in the Lab Scope.
• Maintain detailed logs for daily equipment checks, lab numbers, and performance metrics to ensure reliability.
• Develop technical lab reports, dimensional tests, and certifications required for PPAPs.
• Support continuous production by inspecting incoming steel coils for defects and ensuring correct paperwork.
• Conduct technical analysis as requested by the Quality Assurance team.

Qualifications

• 2-year technical college education or equivalent experience, with lab experience preferred.
• Basic knowledge of metallurgy, metrology, and mechanical testing.
• Proficiency in reading and interpreting product drawings, technical specifications, and work instructions.
• Familiarity with computer software such as MS Word and Excel, as well as mainframe systems like JD Edwards EnterpriseOne.
