Rimere is a deep technology company developing plasma-based systems to reform base materials into higher value materials made from the same base elements. Our current focus is reforming natural gas into graphene and other high value carbon nanomaterials along with hydrogen. Rimere is entering an active phase of commercial market development, partner engagement, and proving scale.

THE OPPORTUNITY

Rimere is hiring an on-site IT Support Technician to keep company computers, servers and network running day to day. The role reports to senior technical leadership and serves as the hands-on presence in the office and lab.

RESPONSIBILITIES

End-User and Device Support

• Set up, configure, update and repair company laptops, desktops and related peripherals
• Respond to day-to-day support requests and log each one through to resolution
• Handle onboarding and offboarding of accounts, devices and access for new hires and departures
• Maintain the hardware and software asset inventory & related documentation

Servers and Network

• Serve as on-site hands for server maintenance, including hardware checks, replacements, restarts, and power and UPS checks
• Monitor system alerts and escalate issues to the senior technical lead
• Run and verify backups, and perform test restores on a set schedule
• Apply operating system and software updates under the direction of the senior technical lead
• Support the office network, including switches, firewall, Wi-Fi and internet provider coordination

Accounts, Security and Licenses

• Administer user accounts, permissions, multi-factor authentication and password resets 
• Maintain endpoint protection and baseline security settings across company devices
• Track software licenses and renewals

Lab and Operations Systems

• Support computers connected to lab instruments, following the change controls set by the technical team

Documentation and Vendors

• Document system configurations, procedures and recurring fixes
• Coordinate with IT vendors and hardware suppliers on quotes, orders and service

QUALIFICATIONS

Required

• One to three years of experience in help desk, desktop support or IT technician work
• Working knowledge of Linux, Windows and macOS, and of Microsoft 365 or similar cloud administration tools
• Networking fundamentals, including TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, and basic switching and Wi-Fi
• Comfortable handling physical hardware, including server and network & laboratory equipment
• Reliable and organized, with the ability to work from remote instructions under limited supervision

Preferred

• CompTIA A+, Network+ or Security+ certification
• Exposure to Windows Server or Linux, virtualization and backup tools
• Experience in a research, laboratory or manufacturing environment

COMPENSATION

Base Pay

$55,000 – $70,000 per year

Location

Lafayette, Colorado. On-site position; requires physical access to company servers, network equipment and lab computers. Schedule: full-time, in-office.
