Your role
As the Events Manager, you will bring meetings and events to life for Educate Texas, North Texas Giving Day, and Communities Foundation of Texas. Working closely with internal teams, community and corporate partners, vendors, volunteers, and attendees, you will coordinate the details that make events successful, including logistics, communications, timelines, budgets, and onsite execution. You will also play an important role in delivering North Texas Giving Day events throughout the year in partnership with Marketing leadership and other key stakeholders.
This position will be located in Dallas, TX with up to 60% travel as necessary.
What you'll do
Event Planning & Execution

- Build and maintain strong relationships with local and statewide venues, vendors, and event partners.
- Solicit proposals, coordinate contracts and purchase requirements, monitor vendor performance, and confirm that services meet expectations and budget parameters.
- Partner with Marketing and program teams to coordinate invitations, registration, event communications, signage, branding, and other deliverables.
Program, Budget & Resource Management
- Manage multiple events and workstreams simultaneously, maintaining clear priorities, deadlines, decision points, and stakeholder accountability.
- Track event budgets, commitments, invoices, and expenses; identify risks early and recommend solutions that balance quality, cost, and impact.
- Use event scope, audience, strategic importance, and stakeholder needs to recommend the appropriate level of support and allocation of resources.
- Maintain accurate event records, templates, vendor information, and planning tools that support consistency and efficiency.
Evaluation & Continuous Improvement
- Track participation, budget, stakeholder feedback, and other relevant measures to assess event effectiveness.
- Prepare concise updates for leaders and partners that highlight progress, risks, decisions needed, outcomes, and recommended next steps.

What does success look like in this role?
- Meetings and events are thoughtfully planned, delivered on time and within budget, and provide a professional, welcoming experience for attendees.
- Event stakeholders understand their roles, receive timely information, and remain aligned through clear plans, communication, and follow-through.
- Vendors, venues, technology, materials, and onsite logistics are coordinated effectively, with risks anticipated and issues resolved calmly and promptly.
- Event resources are prioritized based on organizational goals, audience needs, event scope, and anticipated impact.
- Post-event feedback and results are translated into practical improvements for future meetings and events.
Experience you bring
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and relevant experience preferred.
- 5 or more years of professional experience in event planning, event coordination, project management, or marketing and communications work directly tied to events needed.
- Demonstrated experience managing event logistics, vendors, budgets, timelines, registration, technology, and onsite execution.
- Strong project management and organizational skills, with the ability to manage concurrent events, changing priorities, dependencies, and deadlines with accuracy.
- Excellent interpersonal, communication, customer service, and relationship-building skills across diverse internal and external stakeholders.
- Sound judgment and problem-solving ability, including the capacity to remain calm, flexible, and professional under pressure.
- Proficiency with common event registration, virtual meeting, project management, and Microsoft Office tools; ability to learn new systems quickly.
