Production Supervisor3rd shift: Friday, Saturday & Sunday: 6:00am-6:30pmPurposeTo plan, organize and control production to ensure that goods are produced efficiently, on time and within budgets and to standards. The Production Supervisor will directly supervise and coordinate the activities of production between machine operators by supervising daily production schedules and ensure that inventory levels are managed properly.Education and ExperienceHigh school diploma or equivalentMinimum of 3 years of knowledge and experience in production and manufacturing processes and techniques2-3 years of manufacturing experience requiredSupervisory ResponsibilitiesOversee the day to day workflow of production staffManages Production operatorsHandles discipline and termination of employees as needed an in accordance with company policyWorks with department leaders to monitor each department and make recommendations to improve performance that impacts the organizationPosition ResponsibilitiesOversee the production process to ensure delivery of high quality products that meet the customers' needsEnsures appropriate production rate to reduce delivery delaysCollaborates with Customer Service and sales departments to identify and resolve quality concerns.Identifies any bottlenecks or delays in production; ensures necessary labor, materials and other resources are available to relieve production bottlenecks and delaysUses production planning and scheduling to limit material shortagesEnsures production machinery complies with professional and safety standardsEffectively and clearly communicates potential risks in a timely manner.Resolve employee, customer or contractor issues.Coordinate with internal and external parties to exchange relevant information.Prepare staff schedules and determine work assignments including timeline completions for projects.Represent the organization in external relations including negations.Act as liaison between departments or other groups to improve function, performance or communication.Review applicable organizational policies and procedures ensuring accuracy and relevance, communicate said policies and procedures, updating as necessary.Ensure CAR's (Corrective Action Reports) are submitted on time with proper resolutionsTasksEnforce safety and health regulations.Direct and coordinate the activities of employees engaged in the production or processing of goods, such as operators, or general production workers.Confer with other supervisors to coordinate operations and activities within or between departments.Plan and establish work schedules, assignments, and production sequences to meet production goals.Inspect materials, products, or equipment to detect defects or malfunctions.Observe work and monitor gauges, dials, and other indicators to ensure that operators conform to production or processing standards.Conduct employee training in equipment operations or work and safety procedures, or assign employee training to experienced workers.Interpret specifications, blueprints, job orders, and company policies and procedures for workers.Keep records of employees' attendance and hours worked.Read and analyze charts, work orders, production schedules, and other records and reports to determine production requirements and to evaluate current production estimates and outputs.Requisition materials, supplies, equipment parts, or repair services.Maintain operations data, such as time, production, and cost records, and prepare management reports of production results.Determine standards, budgets, production goals, and rates, based on company policies, equipment and labor availability, and workloads.Confer with management or subordinates to resolve worker problems, complaints, or grievances.Set up and adjust machines and equipment.Recommend or implement measures to motivate employees and to improve production methods, equipment performance, product quality, or efficiency.Recommend or execute personnel actions, such as hirings, evaluations, or promotions.Implement corrective actions to address organizational or departmental issues.Establish departmental responsibilities and coordinate functions.Ensure efficient collaboration and coordination between relevant departments including procurement, distribution and management.Interpret and explain policies, rules, regulations and document poor performanceMonitor and review the performance of staffImplement and review standard operating procedures and ensure all procedures are being followed.Implement and enforce quality control to detect and correct problemsAct as liaison between organization and managementPerforms other duties as assignedEqual Opportunity Employer/Protected Veterans/Individuals with Disabilities This employer is required to notify all applicants of their rights pursuant to federal employment laws.
