Clinical Data Abstractor

To support the Revenue Cycle department, the full-time Certified Patient Records Abstractor will review and analyze medical records for documentation deficiencies, ensure compliance with regulations, and facilitate communication between clinical providers and management while working remotely. Key responsibilities Review and analyze medical records to identify deficiencies and ensure compliance with standards and regulations Monitor record completion through electronic health record systems and track outstanding deficiencies Act as a liaison between deficiency analysis staff, clinical providers, and coding teams to resolve documentation issues Required qualifications Graduation from High School or a GED with knowledge of applicable medical terminology Successful completion of an AHIMA or AAPC accredited Health Information Tech/Management or Coding Program Certification as a Certified Professional Coder (CPC-A) or credentialed by AHIMA (RHIT) Experience coding physician, outpatient, inpatient, or surgical claims Prior experience in a hospital or physician office environment
