Construction Superintendent

Brunel Energy is recruiting a Construction Superintendent to work with a major oil and gas company on a 12-month contract in Carlsbad, NM. This position offers per-diem for non-locals. Summary This professional will be responsible for coordinating and facilitating the construction of electric distribution lines and facilities, ensuring projects meet safety, quality, scope, schedule, and financial objectives. Works independently and applies technical knowledge to project plans and designs while coordinating complex construction activities and assignments. Responsibilities Manage contractor safety, work progress, and completion, while ensuring work is performed in compliance with safety guidelines, company policies, procedures, and applicable standards. Coordinate field activities and support project execution for electric distribution projects, including field inspections, job site readiness, required permits, and construction activities. Perform field inspections, lead crews, and inspect and monitor the installation of distribution lines and equipment to ensure compliance with material, equipment, and design specifications. Provide field support for the design and construction of electric distribution facilities, including coordinating field changes, material or equipment deliveries and inspections, and resolving field issues. Support project scheduling and prioritization of work to meet deadlines and maintain accountability for the permanent in-service date. Review and support post-construction material reconciliation, as-built designs, and contractor labor accuracy according to approved designs. Apply risk analysis and electrical, civil, or mechanical engineering knowledge to assist with design and field issue resolution in support of current Design Engineering requirements and the PE Sealing Process. Undertake special assignments as directed and recognize and address safety issues on-site. Qualifications Have completed a qualified apprenticeship program and possess a Journeyman Lineman License/Certification . Experience managing and running electric distribution crews. Extensive knowledge of applicable OSHA, NEC, NESC, DOT, and CFR requirements. In-depth knowledge of right-of-way terms, construction methods, techniques, standards, and equipment required for electric distribution systems. Ability to read and interpret complex electrical and construction designs, safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, procedure manuals, schedules, and other written, oral, diagram, or schedule-based instructions. Ability to manage, coordinate, plan, and organize several concurrent complex projects and activities under required time constraints, write routine reports, and handle critical situations with minimal or no direction from supervisors. Ability to apply risk analysis, recognize and address safety issues, support field issue resolution, and ensure work is performed in compliance with safety guidelines, company policies and procedures, and work standards.
