PATIENT ACCOUNTS SPECIALIST-GOVERNMENT BILLING

Job Description Patient Account Specialist – Government Billing Shift: 5:00 AM – 1:30 PM. Responsible for the maintenance and processing of patient accounts, timely and accurate billing, collections, and follow‑up for government payers. Conduct appropriate account activity, overcome barriers to ensure timely payment, and understand managed care contracts and reimbursement procedures. Responsibilities Maintain and process patient accounts. Gather information for proper billing and collections. Follow up with government payers to ensure timely payment. Conduct account activities and overcome barriers to secure payment. Understand managed care contracts and reimbursement procedures. Experience 1–3 years of government medical insurance experience in a medical setting. Education High School diploma or equivalent. Billing/Collections coding education is a plus. Qualifications & Requirements Demonstrated knowledge of government medical insurance billing. Reimbursement and medical claims experience. Understanding of Explanation of Benefits (EOB).
