About the Role

The Company is seeking a Board Treasurer to join its dedicated team. The Treasurer will play a crucial role in providing overall financial oversight, working in partnership with the President, Staff, Bookkeeper, and Finance Committee. This is a hands-on position that requires the Treasurer to oversee the work of the organization's bookkeeper, review bank statements and financial reports monthly, and serve as the second signature or approver on funds distributed over designated thresholds. The successful candidate will be responsible for monitoring financial activity, keeping the board informed of the organization's financial state, and ensuring the appropriate handling of funds. The ideal candidate for the Board Treasurer position at the company should have a strong background in accounting and finance, with experience in nonprofit financial management. While sobriety is not a requirement, a commitment to the mission of the organization and an understanding of the challenges faced by individuals in recovery is essential. The role demands a thoughtful and introspective leader who is willing to dedicate time and effort to help build a stable foundation for the young organization. The Treasurer will not be involved in routine bookkeeping activities but must be prepared to step in temporarily if necessary. The position is suited to someone who is detail-oriented, responsible, and able to work collaboratively with a diverse team of directors and staff.
