Cost Accountant

Seneca Foods Corporation has a career opportunity available at our Glencoe facility for an entry level Cost Accountant. We are looking for a qualified individual to demonstrate their ability to learn and grow with our Glencoe processing facility.

COST ACCOUNTANT RESPONSIBILITIES:

Accounts Payable & Receiving Operational Tracking & Reporting Preparation of monthly journal entries and account reconciliations Development and maintenance of standard costs Assist in the quarterly forecasting and bi-annual budgeting processes AG & Grower Accounting Assist Plant Controller on: Costing and Analysis Projects Raw Product Scale Support Payroll On-Boarding of Seasonal Staff

QUALIFICATIONS:

Prior work experience is not required but preferred in Accounting or Inventory. Associates or Bachelors degree in Accounting or a related field desired: Demonstrated general knowledge of financial accounting procedures is required. Advanced Excel, PowerPoint, and Microsoft Word skills Must possess exceptional thoughtful and analytical skills, diligent with high attention to detail. Strong interpersonal skills, self-motivated, well organized. Agile and open to change. Excellent communication skills (written and verbal). Ability to work independently, effectively handle multiple competing priorities and manage deadlines under pressure. Resourceful! Strong project and time management skills. Proven ability to develop strong partnerships and influence at all levels of the organization. Must be collegial, with high integrity, and a team player.
