Beverage Packaging Operations Supervisor

Location: Bend, Oregon
Schedule Options: Mon–Wed or Thu–Sat | 5:00 PM – 5:30 AM (12-hour shifts)

You arrive before the horn, review the production plan, and gather your crew of roughly ten Packaging Operators. After a concise safety huddle and goal review, you place people where they’ll make the biggest impact across bottling, canning, and kegging lines. Through the shift, you’re in constant motion—checking labels and caps, scanning fill levels and seals, clearing jams, and adjusting coverage to keep line speed on target. You coach in real time, verify hourly quality logs, and keep sanitation and PPE front-and-center. When it’s time for changeovers, you help minimize downtime. As the night winds down, you supervise CIP/COP cleaning so the lines are sanitized and ready for the next team—and you hand off clean, complete notes to the incoming supervisor.

• Direct, schedule, and redeploy ~10 operators to sustain optimal throughput across bottling, canning, and kegging equipment.
• Train new team members on SOPs, GMPs, equipment setup, and safe work practices; provide continuous on-the-floor coaching.
• Lead start-of-shift briefings focused on safety topics and production targets; execute smooth cross-shift handoffs.
• Audit packaging quality (labeling, capping, fill levels, sealing) and confirm accurate, timely hourly quality documentation.
• Troubleshoot slowdowns and complex machine jams; support rapid, precise product changeovers to reduce downtime.
• Act as the go-to contact for bottlenecks, equipment issues, and safety concerns throughout the night.
• Model and enforce Food Safety, Sanitation, OSHA, and facility policies, ensuring consistent PPE compliance.
• Oversee end-of-run and daily intensive chemical cleaning (CIP/COP) to meet strict hygiene standards.

• 2+ years in packaging, bottling, canning, or food/beverage manufacturing, including informal or formal leadership (Lead Operator, Shift Lead, or Supervisor).
• Proven ability to delegate, motivate, and support a ~10-person team through 12-hour night shifts; steady under pressure and conflict.
• Hands-on knowledge of packaging machinery, changeovers, troubleshooting, and GMP-driven safety practices.
• Clear written and verbal communication: daily shift summaries, logbook accuracy, and cross-department coordination.
• Physical readiness to stand, walk, bend, and navigate a loud, fast-paced floor for 12 hours; comfortable working around chemical cleaning agents with required PPE.
