High-acuity, Level IV trauma centers | 12-hour shifts | No call

Rhino Medical is leading the charge seeking ABEM-certified Emergency Medicine Physicians for ongoing coverage across multiple high-acuity ERs and FSEDs within a regional healthcare system in Corpus Christi, Texas. This role involves 12-hour onsite shifts (6 a.m. to 6 p.m. and 6 p.m. to 6 a.m.), including weekends and nights, with no call responsibilities. Candidates must have at least two years of emergency department experience or family medicine with fellowship training, and current certifications in ABEM, ABFM, or ABIM with ER experience. The onboarding process includes a two-hour Meditech and quality measures education session, along with 2-3 shadow shifts.

This setting features four facilities with patient volumes ranging from 45 to 80 daily, serving diverse populations including elderly, rural, and younger patients, with high-acuity cases such as trauma, strokes, OB deliveries, and critical procedures like intubations and central line placements. Support staff includes APP coverage varying by site from 9 to 24 hours daily. Candidates must hold an active Texas medical license, DEA registration, and be board certified or eligible in Emergency Medicine.

Clinical Scope

• Evaluation, stabilization, and treatment of emergency patients
• Management of trauma, strokes, OB deliveries, dislocations, and critical procedures
• Procedures include intubations, central line placement, ultrasound use, chest tube placement, trauma management, and laceration repair
• High-acuity cases across diverse patient populations

Requirements

• Active Texas medical license
• DEA registration
• ABEM certification or eligibility
• At least 2 years of ED experience or family medicine with emergency fellowship
• Current ACLS, PALS certifications
• Completion of an accredited emergency medicine residency or equivalent experience
