Surgical Technologist - First Assistant - Operating Room

We are looking for a skilled and dedicated Surgical Technologist First Assistant to join our team. In this pivotal role, you will provide essential support to surgeons during operations by maintaining a sterile environment and offering critical assistance throughout surgical procedures. Your expertise will ensure the smooth execution of surgeries and contribute to positive patient outcomes.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assist surgeons with tissue handling, suctioning, and hemostasis during procedures.
• Maintain a sterile field and prepare surgical instruments with precision.
• Work closely with the surgical team to monitor patient conditions throughout the operation.
• Accurately document surgical procedures and ensure proper sterilization of instruments.
• Operate under the supervision and authority of the surgeon to ensure the safe and effective conduct of both invasive and non-invasive surgical procedures.
• Ensure the operating room environment is safe, equipment is functioning properly, and all procedures are conducted under conditions that maximize patient safety.

Qualifications:

• Graduate of accredited Surgical Technology Program.
• Certification through the National Board of Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting (NBSTSA) or National Surgical Assistant Association.
• Advanced First Assistant certification preferred.
• Proven experience in a surgical setting.
• Completes 20 Continuing Education Units (CEUs) / year of advance training.
