Assistant Controller (Clear Path to Controller) Opportunity Overview Our client is an established international logistics organization headquartered in South Florida. The company operates high-volume trade lanes connecting multiple continents, generating very strong top line revenue. This is a substantial, stable, and profitable business with genuine global reach. The CFO is building out his senior team and is looking for a true right hand. He needs an Assistant Controller who can take ownership of day-to-day accounting operations, elevate the quality of reporting, and lead the company through a meaningful systems modernization, including a transition from QuickBooks to Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central as part of a broader financial integration. For the right person, the path is straightforward. Perform at a high level in this seat and grow into the Controller role. What You'll Be Responsible For Own the accounting operation end to end, including A/P, A/R, payroll, and general ledger, along with a disciplined month-end and year-end close Lead, mentor, and develop the accounting team, including coordination with local accountants across Central and South America handling branch-level and customer-specific billing Play a central role in the migration from QuickBooks to Microsoft Business Central, and use that transition to modernize processes rather than replicate old ones Build and strengthen financial policies and internal controls appropriate for a company of this scale Prepare and analyze monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements, and support budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow management Coordinate external audits and serve as the point of contact for auditors, tax advisors, and regulators Deliver financial insight directly to executive leadership, in both English and Spanish What Makes This Opportunity Different Direct partnership with the CFO. What We're Looking For Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field 8+ years of progressive accounting and finance experience, including 3 to 5 years supervising a team Deep general ledger experience and strong command of GAAP and financial reporting Full professional fluency in English and Spanish, spoken and written; this is a firm requirement Comfort leading an ERP transition; Microsoft Business Central experience is a plus CPA or Master's degree preferred; public accounting foundation is a plus Transportation or logistics industry experience is helpful but not required #J-18808-Ljbffr StevenDouglas
