Fire Alarm Technician in the Fire and Safety Industry is responsible for programming, testing, and maintaining fire alarm systems. Responsibilities Designing and programming fire alarm systems to meet client needs and regulatory requirements. Testing and troubleshooting fire alarm systems. Collaborating with project managers, technicians, and stakeholders to ensure timely, on-budget project completion. Providing technical support to clients and colleagues, including training as needed. Maintaining accurate records and preparing reports. Keeping up-to-date with code changes and industry best practices. Ensuring compliance with all local, state, and federal codes. Maintaining a safe working environment and adhering to safety protocols. Qualifications Experience in fire alarm system programming, testing, and troubleshooting. Familiarity with specialized software and equipment used to program fire alarm systems. Knowledge of local, state, and federal regulations governing these systems. Ability to work independently and as part of a team with excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Valid driver’s license and physical ability to perform job duties. Completion of a degree or certification program in a related field may be required. Physical Requirements Prolonged periods of standing, kneeling, bending, and climbing ladders. Physical ability to install system hardware and wiring. Ability to lift at least 35 pounds.
