Position Overview

YSC Sports is seeking a dependable, detail-oriented janitorial professional to maintain a clean, safe, and welcoming environment for athletes, families, coaches, staff, and visitors. The janitorial team will be responsible for routine cleaning, sanitation, restroom maintenance, trash removal, and general facility upkeep throughout the sports complex.
The ideal candidate takes pride in their work, follows established cleaning and safety procedures, and understands the importance of maintaining a high standard of cleanliness in a busy athletic facility.
 
Essential Responsibilities

• Clean and sanitize restrooms, locker rooms, showers, and common areas.
• Sweep, mop, vacuum, and maintain floors throughout the facility.
• Clean athletic spaces, hallways, offices, entryways, and other designated areas.
• Empty trash and recycling containers and replace liners.
• Clean and disinfect frequently touched surfaces, including door handles, railings, counters, benches, and other high-touch areas.
• Replenish restroom and janitorial supplies as needed.
• Clean windows, glass doors, mirrors, and other glass surfaces.
• Respond promptly to spills, accidents, and other cleaning needs.
• Maintain cleanliness in areas used for sports programs, camps, tournaments, and special events.
• Assist with setup and cleanup before and after events when needed.
• Report maintenance issues, safety hazards, damaged equipment, or supply shortages to management.
• Properly use, store, and maintain cleaning equipment and chemicals.
• Follow all facility safety policies and chemical handling procedures.
• Maintain a professional and courteous demeanor around children, families, athletes, coaches, and staff.
• Perform other general cleaning and facility-support duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• Previous janitorial, custodial, housekeeping, or commercial cleaning experience preferred.
• Ability to work independently and efficiently with minimal supervision.
• Strong attention to detail and pride in maintaining cleanliness.
• Reliable attendance and punctuality.
• Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
• Ability to work in a busy, high-traffic sports facility.
• Ability to safely lift, carry, push, and pull cleaning equipment and supplies.
• Ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel, and perform physical cleaning tasks for extended periods.
• Must maintain a professional and respectful attitude when interacting with children and the public.
• Must be willing to follow all YSC Sports safety, security, and facility policies.

Preferred Schedule

Because YSC Sports operates during evenings and weekends, candidates should be available for some combination of:

• Early morning or afternoon shifts
• Weekends
• Holidays or special events, as needed. Will be communicated to prior to.

Physical Requirements

This position requires frequent standing, walking, bending, reaching, kneeling, lifting, and carrying. The employee may be required to lift and move cleaning supplies, trash bags, equipment, and other items weighing approximately 25–50 pounds, as applicable to assigned duties.
