Key Responsibilities

• Provide individualized, age-specific, and culturally appropriate patient and family care using the nursing process, including assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation.
• Develop and adapt comprehensive plans of care in collaboration with patients, families, and interdisciplinary healthcare team members.
• Serve as a patient and family advocate, encouraging participation in decision-making and upholding individual and family rights.
• Delegate and assign care tasks to other healthcare team members within their scope of practice and competency.
• Identify and respond to patient and family educational needs through individualized education planning and adult-learning principles.
• Coordinate with interdisciplinary and ancillary staff to expedite patient progress, communicate care needs, and participate in patient care conferences.

Required Qualifications

• Active California RN License required.
• CPR certification required.
• ACLS certification required.
• NIH Stroke Scale certification required.
• Minimum of 3 years of recent RN experience in an RN role.
• Minimum of 2 years of recent RN experience in a specialty area (ICU preferred).
• BSN or ADN required.

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Proficiency with advanced ICU competencies including mechanical ventilation, arterial pressure monitoring, central venous pressure monitoring, pulmonary artery pressure monitoring, and ICP monitoring.
• Experience with hemodialysis, therapeutic hypothermia, chest tubes, and non-invasive ventilation.
• Familiarity with Alaris pump, Belmont rapid infuser, and Novastat glucose monitoring systems.
• Knowledge of CAUTI, CLABSI, and HAPI prevention practices.
