Job Description & Requirements - Specialty: ICU - Intensive Care Unit - Discipline: RN - Start Date: 07/27/2026 - Duration: 13 weeks - 36 hours per week - Shift: 12 hours, nights - Employment Type: Travel Estimated Gross Weekly Pay: $2412 /n/n $500 CONTRACT COMPLETION BONUS /n/n Opportunity: /n RN - ICU /n/n Job Details: /n • 12-hour variable day and night shifts, primarily days /n• Day shift hours: 7:00 AM to 7:30 PM; Night shift hours: 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM /n• Every other weekend required, with more weekends possible if willing /n• Every other holiday required, with more holidays possible if willing /n• Required certifications: ACLS (AHA), BLS (AHA), NIHSS; TNCC preferred /n• No specific scrub color required; clean and professional appearance expected /n• 16-bed SICU unit plus 2 additional procedural beds /n• Nurse-to-patient ratios: 1:2 standard, 1:1 for higher acuity patients (CRRT, immediate post-op hearts, MTP, OPO), 1:3 for med-surg/floor status patients /n• Common patient populations include cardiovascular surgery (CABG, AVR, MVR, AAA), traumas, NSTEMI/STEMI, vascular surgery, neurosurgery, general surgery, orthopedic surgery, and ENT surgery /n• Must have experience with high acuity patient populations /n• CRRT, IABP, Impella, and ECMO experience not required but preferred /n• All nurses care for POD 1 heart patients; immediate post-op heart patients cared for 1:1 by specifically trained nurses /n• RNs required to titrate drips including epi, norepi, propofol, precedex, vasopressin, dobutamine, heparin, insulin, dopamine, neo, and milrinone /n• RNs responsible for monitoring own patient telemetry and reading and documenting rhythm strips using GE monitors /n• RT equipment includes ventilators, BiPAP, vapotherm, and all related respiratory equipment available on unit /n• Intensivist in house 24/7; charge nurse on every shift; nursing house supervisor available 24/7 /n• Respiratory therapy available 24/7 on unit /n• Nurse aide available during day shift for entire unit; not typical on night shift /n• Floating may be required to MICU if not needed in SICU; patient observation duties possible if neither unit needs staffing /n• Charting system: Cerner /n• One day of system onboarding and CBT completion required, followed by two orientation shifts on unit; skills checklist must be completed /n• Cancellation policy: Client may cancel up to 12 hours every 13 weeks /n/n Facility: /n This acute care facility serves as a tertiary care center and Level 2 trauma center, offering a comprehensive range of surgical and critical care services. The SICU department operates with a strong interdisciplinary team model, including 24/7 intensivist coverage, respiratory therapy, and nursing house supervisor support.
