What You'll Do

What You'll Do
Plan and lead fun, educational, and recreational daily activities
Supervise children and ensure a safe environment at all times
Help students with homework
Communicate daily with parents about student progress and events
Manage classroom routines and guide positive student behavior
Coordinate program supplies, schedules, and assistant staff
Requirements

Requirements
High school diploma or GED required; college credits in education or child development preferred
Minimum of six-months to one year of experience working with school-age children in a group setting
CPR and First Aid certification or willingness to obtain within 30 days
Pass a state background check, health screening and drug screening
Strong oral and written communication skills and basic computer skills.
High energy and the ability to work well with others (staff, children, and parents) and to foster a team environment.
Excellent leadership, organizational, and interpersonal skills.

Degree in Early Childhood Education, Elementary Education, or related field
Experience supervising or mentoring assistant teachers and staff
Knowledge of local Chesapeake community resources and schools
Valid driver license with a clean driving record for school pickup & field trips
