Landscape Construction Laborer

Work arrangement: Field-based; projects throughout a roughly 60-mile radius of Edwardsville, including the St. Louis area Pay: $15 - $20 per hour Learn Valuable Outdoor Construction Skills and Build a Path to Higher Pay Sugarloaf Landscape Nursery is a family-owned and operated business with approximately 40 years of history. With a 10-acre nursery and projects on both sides of the Illinois-Missouri state line, the company performs residential and commercial landscaping, hardscaping, concrete, fence, and deck work. This is not a lawn-mowing position. Sugarloaf Landscape Nursery is hiring two Landscape Construction Laborers to support its growing project workload. Previous experience is welcome, but it is not required. The company can teach the work to someone who learns quickly, brings a positive attitude, and is willing to contribute. You will work alongside experienced crew members on a range of outdoor improvement projects. Key Responsibilities Assist crew members with residential and commercial landscape construction Help install rock, mulch, sod, seed, straw, and landscape materials Support paver, retaining-wall, patio, and brick-driveway projects Assist with flat-concrete, fence, and deck work as assigned Load, unload, move, and organize materials, tools, and equipment Prepare jobsites and help maintain clean, orderly work areas Follow instructions from crew leaders and ask questions when needed Use company tools and equipment responsibly Help the crew complete projects efficiently and on schedule Travel to jobsites within approximately 60 miles of Edwardsville Required Qualifications Positive attitude and willingness to learn Dependability and punctuality Ability to follow directions and work as part of a crew Willingness to perform hands-on outdoor labor Reliable transportation to the office or assigned jobsite Valid driver's license and ability to drive a company vehicle when authorized. Ability to perform outdoor construction work that may involve standing, walking, bending, kneeling, digging, carrying materials, and working in varying weather conditions. Employees may have opportunities to qualify to operate larger company vehicles, depending on business needs and applicable licensing requirements. Preferred Qualifications Previous landscaping, hardscaping, construction, or general labor experience Experience with pavers, retaining walls, flat concrete, fences, or decks Familiarity with construction tools or equipment Interest in earning the license classification required to operate larger company vehicles Personal tools are welcome but not required Pay and Benefits Full-Time, W-2 Employment Base pay: $15 - $20 per hour, based on relevant experience and qualifications.
