Overview
The Supervisor, Elective Programs will be responsible for leading and supporting the district's elective programs by promoting instructional excellence, operational effectiveness, and student engagement across Fine Arts, Physical Education, Health, Technology, Career and Technical Education (CTE), World Languages, and other elective offerings. This position partners with instructional leaders and teachers to ensure high-quality, standards-aligned instruction, strengthen educator effectiveness, and expand opportunities that enrich the student experience in a virtual learning environment.

• Leadership & Oversight
  
  
  • Supervise elective teachers and Lead Teachers.
  • Foster collaboration across all elective departments.
  • Promote innovative instructional practices.
• Curriculum & Instructional Leadership
  
  
  • Ensure implementation of standards-aligned elective curriculum.
  • Monitor instructional quality and student engagement.
  • Support project-based learning and technology integration.
• Teacher Coaching & Development
  
  
  • Conduct observations and coaching cycles.
  • Facilitate professional development specific to elective instruction.
  • Support recruitment and onboarding.
• Student Support & Engagement
  
  
  • Increase participation in elective programs.
  • Promote student showcases and enrichment opportunities.
  • Support inclusive learning experiences for all students.
• Family & Community Engagement
  
  
  • Coordinate virtual showcases, performances, and exhibitions.
  • Strengthen family involvement through elective programming.
• Operations & Compliance
  
  
  • Coordinate elective schedules and instructional resources.
  • Ensure compliance with instructional and program requirements.
  • Support campus-wide initiatives and special events.
• You will play a key role in our collective success by proactively pivoting to support emerging business needs and strategic priorities directed by your manager.

Knowledge, Skills & Attributes

• A minimum of 3 years of successful teaching experience in an elective or specialty area.
• Strong instructional leadership skills.
• Ability to coach teachers across multiple content areas.
• Experience with project-based and technology-rich instruction.
• Proven experience working independently with minimal supervision, including the ability to manage a digital task list and maintain a stable remote (home-office) infrastructure.
• Minimum of 1–2 years of experience using the Google Workspace suite (Docs, Sheets, Slides, Drive) in a professional or academic setting.
• Demonstrated ability to communicate complex ideas via written channels (Email, Google Chat, and Document Comments) with high clarity and low ambiguity.
• Access to a private, secure, high-speed internet connection with a minimum of 25 Mbps download and 10 Mbps upload speeds.
• Previous instructional leadership, coaching, or supervisory experience preferred.
• Experience supporting Professional Learning Communities (PLCs), teacher development, and instructional improvement preferred.
• Experience in a virtual or blended learning environment preferred.

Education & Certification Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in Education or related field required.
• Master's Degree preferred.
• Valid Texas Teaching Certificate.
