Schedule: Full-Time, Monday through Friday, 40 hours per week

Compensation: $38.56 - $50.13 per hour (Based on experience)

Key Responsibilities

As a Nuclear Medicine Technologist, you will use radioactive drugs and imaging equipment to diagnose and treat patients with various medical conditions. Your core duties will include:

• Patient Care & Communication: Prepare patients for procedures by explaining the process, addressing comfort and privacy needs, and providing clear discharge instructions.
• Radiopharmaceutical Management: Safely prepare, measure, and administer radiopharmaceuticals, strictly documenting all administrative and relative records.
• Imaging & Technology: Cleanly operate imaging equipment, cameras, post-processing computers, and monitoring devices, ensuring images are fully prepared for physician interpretation.
• Safety & Compliance: Utilize appropriate immobilization and shielding techniques. Comply with all state regulations regarding the use and disposal of radioactive materials, perform equipment calibrations, and maintain strict radiation safety for patients, visitors, and staff.
• Collaboration: Maintain a clean, well-stocked work area and assist patients, family members, and colleagues in a friendly, cooperative manner.
• Ethics & Standards: Adhere to high standards of ethical conduct, maintaining patient confidentiality in strict compliance with HIPAA and Solaris Health policies.

Position Requirements

• Education: Associate degree in Nuclear Medicine Technology required (bachelor's degree preferred).
• Experience: Minimum of 1 year of Nuclear Medicine Technology experience.
• Credentials:
  • Registration with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) OR certification through the Nuclear Medicine Technology Certification Board (NMTCB) is required.
  • Current license and certification as required by the state of Colorado.
  • BLS certification required (ACLS preference).
• Skills: Exceptional organizational skills, strong attention to detail, and proficiency with healthcare systems like EMR. You should possess excellent verbal and written communication skills and a natural ability to show empathy and compassion to patients.
• Travel: None required.
• Physical Demands: Ability to frequently carry 1-25 lbs. and occasionally lift/push/pull up to 50 lbs. as required by standard clinical protocols.

GENERAL SUMMARY


The Nuclear Medicine Technologist uses radioactive drugs and imaging equipment to diagnose and treat patients with various medical conditions and diseases. The Technologist works with physicians and other medical staff to prepare and administer drugs and record and interpret the images.


Requirements

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTION/COMPETENCIES

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

• Documents pertinent patient information according to department policies. Includes record of radiopharmaceutical administration and relative required documentation.
• Provides explanation of procedure, discharge information, and expectations of test completion and availability of results.
• Prepares, measures and administers radiopharmaceuticals.
• Utilizes appropriate immobilization and shielding techniques to protect patients from safety risks.
• Operates imaging equipment according to established procedures, including cameras, post processing computers and monitoring devices.
• Meets the individual physical and mental needs of patients during procedures including comfort, privacy, confidentiality and timely communication.
• Prepares images for interpretation by completing required post processing protocols.
• Utilizes appropriate radiation safety methods for patients, visitors and all staff.
• Complies with State regulations for the use and disposal of radioactive materials.
• Performs equipment calibrations and quality control testing, specific to radioactive material monitoring.
• Maintains work area and equipment by proper use, routine cleaning and ensures there are adequate supplies.
• Assists patients, family members, physicians, visitors and employees in a friendly cooperative manner.
• Performs other position related duties as assigned.
• Employees shall adhere to high standards of ethical conduct and will comply with and assist in complying with all applicable laws and regulations. This will include and not be limited to following the Solaris Health Code of Conduct and all Solaris Health and Affiliated Practice policies and procedures; maintaining the confidentiality of patients' protected health information in compliance with the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA); immediately reporting any suspected concerns and/or violations to a supervisor and/or the Compliance Department; and the timely completion the Annual Compliance Training.

CERTIFICATIONS, LICENSURES OR REGISTRY REQUIREMENTS

• Registered with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) or Certification through the Nuclear Medicine Technology Certification Board (NMTCB) required.
• License and certification as required by state.

EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS

• Associates Degree in Nuclear Medicine Technology required. Bachelor's Degree in Nuclear Medicine Technology preferred.

EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS

• 1 year of Nuclear Medicine Technology experience required.
