As a high school school-based Special Education Teacher in Illinois, your days will include:

• Provide individualized, small-group, and inclusive classroom instruction aligned with students' IEPs.
• Collaborate with three classroom teachers to plan and deliver differentiated English and Mathematics instruction for high school students.
• Implement appropriate accommodations, modifications, evidence-based instructional strategies, and assistive technology to support academic success.
• Develop, implement, and maintain compliant IEPs while monitoring student progress through ongoing assessment and data collection.
• Foster a safe, structured, and inclusive learning environment that supports students' academic, behavioral, and social-emotional growth.
• Collaborate with educators, related service providers, administrators, and families to support student success and participate in IEP and multidisciplinary team meetings.
• Maintain accurate documentation and comply with federal, state, and school requirements, including IDEA and Illinois special education regulations.

Job Details

Position : Full-time contract in a school setting (1 opening)


Dates : ASAP - June 2027


Hours: 35 hours per week (Monday - Friday)


Classroom Setting : In-person high school inclusion classroom; collaborate with three teachers to support English and Mathematics instruction


Grade Level/Caseload : High school; approximately 7-10 students


Interview : Virtual; interviews available within 24 hours

Successful Candidates Possess

• A Bachelor's degree in Special Education or a related field (required)
• An active Illinois Professional Educator License (PEL) with an LBS1 endorsement (required)
• Strong collaboration skills and the ability to support English and Mathematics instruction in an inclusion setting
• The ability to work in the U.S. without a sponsor
• Note: new graduates are welcome to apply and can receive school-based support and structure
