Job Description & Requirements Specialty: CVICU Discipline: RN Start Date: 09/21/2026 Duration: 13 weeks 36 hours per week Shift: 12 hours, days, nights Employment Type: Travel 298727 Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit (CVICU) Registered Nurse – 10-Bed Unit We are seeking an experienced CVICU Registered Nurse (RN) with recent immediate post-open heart recovery experience . Candidates must be able to care for post-operative open heart patients independently from day one. Key Responsibilities: Provide critical care to CVICU and cardiac patients, including post-open heart, PCI, pacemaker, CHF, COPD, sepsis, and other high-acuity cases. Monitor and manage patients requiring invasive lines, chest tubes, ventilator support, cardiac telemetry, and advanced critical care equipment. Deliver patient-centered care from admission through discharge while collaborating with physicians and the multidisciplinary team. Serve as a clinical leader and assist with precepting staff as needed. Requirements: RN degree from an accredited nursing program. Current Montana RN license (or eligibility to obtain). Recent Critical Care/CVICU experience with immediate post-open heart recovery. BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications required. Strong skills in hemodynamic monitoring, EKG interpretation, ventilator management, and advanced critical care procedures.
