Summary While delivering innovative solutions, exceptional service, and trusted results, the Business Services Representative (BSR) provides outreach and assistance to businesses in targeted industries, offering a full range of value-added services to meet workforce development needs. The BSR will recruit business customers, conduct analysis, and develop a comprehensive service strategy, including linkages to appropriate partners and community resources. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Contact new businesses/employers to provide welcome information and orientate them to one-stop center services and provide follow up. Manage new business opportunities through all stages of the onboarding cycle. Cold calling will be required. Provide outreach to professional organizations, trade organizations, and post-secondary educational institutions. Conduct outreach and provide businesses with information and assistance regarding incentive programs such as OJT incentives, tax credits, and other available resources. Provide recommendations for new employer services or projects, and assist in the planning and implementation of special projects and/or employer services such as employer seminars, pre-employment testing services, employee credentialing, etc. Build and manage a strong sales pipeline; meet and exceed monthly KPIs as well as monthly quota. Assist employers in accessing one-stop resources, including labor market information, job fairs, recruiting assistance, etc. Assess the human resource needs of area businesses by conducting business surveys, customer satisfaction surveys, and/or job profiling/job analysis. Assist in the coordination and facilitation of job fairs. Contact employers to recruit their participation in job fairs, contact vendors to secure donations and participate in job fairs, trade shows and related events. Cultivate business relationships that result in repeat business, as well as reaching out to new employers and small business owners. Work closely with Career Coaches to place customers in unsubsidized employment. Maintain and develop good relationships with customers through personal contact, events, and meetings or via telephone, etc. Qualifications To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to carry out each essential duty satisfactorily. Core Competencies Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, including strength in persuasive writing, editing, and presentation design. Excellent project management skills, with the ability to effectively prioritize tasks and meet deadlines, benchmarks, and goals. Ability to foster a positive work environment and build strong working relationships. Entrepreneurial approach, flexible attitude, and ability to handle multiple projects in a fast-paced and deadline-oriented environment. Strong understanding of sales principles. Ability to analyze market/industry data and create clear strategies. Ability to cultivate and manage high quality stakeholder relationships and demonstrate ability to work with a diverse workforce. Ability to function at a high level of discretion and confidentiality. Must be a self-starter and committed to completing tasks timely, which may include working additional hours and/or over the weekend as needed. Travel approximately 30% of the time. Education and/or Experience Associate’s degree from an accredited college or university. The degree requirement may be substituted for four (4) years of professional work experience. At least three (3) years of recruitment, account management or sales related experience. Experience with customer relationship management (CRM) software highly preferred. Other Skills and Abilities Personal computer literacy required, including effective use of the Internet, e-mail, video conferencing (Zoom, Teams) and Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook). Other Requirements Possession of a valid driver’s license, a registered and insured vehicle that can be used during work. Physical Demands While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to walk, sit, talk, and hear. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
