Dietitian

The Dietitian is responsible for providing expert nutritional care and counseling primarily in an adult outpatient/clinic setting within an acute care hospital. This role involves conducting nutrition assessments and reassessments, managing enteral and parenteral nutrition therapies, and addressing protein calorie malnutrition. The Dietitian collaborates with healthcare teams to optimize patient outcomes and supports a census of approximately 165 patients daily. Strong clinical experience and licensure as a Registered Dietitian (RD/RDN) with an active Illinois state license are required. Responsibilities:

• Perform comprehensive nutrition assessments and reassessments for adult outpatient populations.
• Manage and monitor enteral nutrition (tube feedings) and total parenteral nutrition (TPN) therapies.
• Identify and treat protein calorie malnutrition through individualized nutrition care plans.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams to integrate nutrition care into overall patient management.
• Document nutrition care and patient progress accurately using Cerner electronic medical records.
• Participate in weekend rotation approximately one weekend every four weeks.
• Maintain compliance with hospital policies, procedures, and state licensure requirements.

• Registered Dietitian (RD) or Registered Dietitian Nutritionist (RDN) credential.
• Active Illinois state dietitian license at the time of start.
• Minimum of 1 year clinical experience preferred; first-time dietitians accepted.
• Experience with enteral nutrition (tube feedings) and total parenteral nutrition (TPN).
• Proficiency in nutrition assessments and managing protein calorie malnutrition.
• Familiarity with Cerner electronic health record system.

• Experience working in adult outpatient or clinic settings.
• Experience in an acute care hospital environment, preferably a Level II trauma center.

• Weekend rotation required, typically no more than one weekend every four weeks.
• No on-call responsibilities.
• Does not float outside scope of practice to other departments.
• Parking permit required; no cost to employee.
• Must adhere to Return to Office (RTO) restrictions, ideally no more than 5 days per week.
• Guaranteed hours with potential for client call-offs up to 36 hours per thirteen-week assignment without penalty.

• Standard schedule is Monday through Friday, 7:30 AM to 4:00 PM.
• Participates in weekend rotation approximately once every four weekends.
• Schedule is primarily 5x8 hour shifts during daytime hours.
