Renfrow Industrial is seeking experienced and reliable Industrial Pipe Fitters to join our team. This skilled journeyman-level role lays out, fabricates, fits, installs, modifies, tests, and maintains process piping, utility piping, equipment connections, valves, and pipe-support systems within active industrial plants, manufacturing facilities, shutdowns, facility expansions, new construction, capital projects, and heavy commercial environments. The ideal candidate can read piping isometrics and P&IDs, understands industrial piping materials and proper weld fit-up practices, and is committed to safety, quality, productivity, and accurate workmanship.

• Pay Rate: $28 – $32 per hour (based on experience and demonstrated pipefitting skills)

• Read and interpret piping isometrics, P&IDs, spool drawings, fabrication drawings, line lists, project specifications, and applicable piping standards
• Lay out, measure, cut, bevel, thread, groove, bend, fit, and assemble carbon steel, stainless steel, alloy, and approved nonmetallic piping as required by the project
• Install process and utility piping systems, valves, flanges, strainers, specialty components, pipe supports, and equipment tie-ins in accordance with approved drawings and specifications
• Verify pipe size, schedule, material specification, flange rating, valve orientation, gasket and bolting requirements, dimensions, slope, elevation, centerline, and alignment before installation
• Prepare joints and coordinate fit-up activities with qualified welders, confirming cleanliness, bevel geometry, root opening, alignment, orientation, and fit-up tolerances before welding
• Install and adjust hangers, clamps, anchors, guides, shoes, brackets, and other supports while coordinating structural support modifications with the appropriate trades
• Coordinate with Riggers and other qualified personnel for the safe hoisting, positioning, and installation of pipe spools, valves, and mechanical components
• Support approved hydrostatic or pneumatic testing, flushing, cleaning, line walks, punch-list completion, startup, and turnover activities while following all test and energy-control requirements
• Perform shutdown work, tie-ins, line breaks, system modifications, and maintenance tasks in active industrial facilities while following LOTO, hot-work, and site-specific safety requirements
• Maintain tools, materials, work areas, and project documentation in an orderly condition; report unsafe conditions, damaged materials, or installation discrepancies and perform other duties as assigned

• Ability to climb, balance, lift up to 50 pounds, and work at heights or in confined spaces
• Coordinate eye-hand movements and safely operate cutting, beveling, threading, grooving, torqueing, and material-handling equipment
• Ability to perform physically demanding work including bending, crouching, kneeling, reaching, and handling heavy pipe, fittings, valves, tools, and materials
• Work on active industrial jobsites in varying indoor and outdoor conditions requiring sustained focus, alertness, mobility, and safe movement around operating equipment

• Minimum 3 years relevant industrial construction pipefitting experience required
• Demonstrated journeyman-level pipefitting ability required; NCCER Pipefitter certification is preferred but equivalent verified industrial experience may be accepted
• Ability to read and interpret piping isometrics, P&IDs, spool drawings, fabrication details, piping specifications, and project instructions and to perform field measurements and trade math
• Working knowledge of piping materials, schedules, classes, fittings, flanges, valves, gaskets, bolting, joining methods, supports, and installation tolerances
• Working knowledge of industrial welding processes and proper pipe fit-up practices, including the ability to identify misalignment, improper root opening, incorrect bevels, and other fit-up deficiencies before welding
• Experience with process piping, utility piping, equipment tie-ins, industrial shutdowns, testing and turnover activities; valid driver’s license and basic computer or mobile documentation skills preferred

This position represents a skilled Industrial Pipe Fitter role with advancement opportunities into Lead Pipe Fitter, Combo Welder, Piping Superintendent, Mechanical Lead / Foreman, and other field leadership positions based on performance, training, experience, demonstrated qualifications, and company needs.

• A formal pipefitter license is not generally required; demonstrated journeyman-level industrial pipefitting experience and any project-specific qualifications are required.
• This position performs independent pipefitting work within assigned scope after skills and project requirements have been verified.
• Tack welding or production welding may only be performed when the employee is properly qualified, authorized, and working under the applicable approved welding procedure.
• Pressure testing may only be performed under an approved test plan and designated supervision; employees may not independently change test pressure, remove test boundaries, or release stored energy.
• This position does not supervise or direct other employees unless specifically designated by management.
• Follow approved piping specifications, quality-control procedures, inspection hold points, material-control requirements, and project documentation requirements.
• Perform shutdown work, tie-ins, repairs, and system modifications only within the assigned and authorized scope.
• Coordinate with project managers, superintendents, quality personnel, inspectors, welders, riggers, and other trades to ensure scope alignment, inspection readiness, and successful project completion.
• Physically demanding role requiring lifting, bending, crouching, kneeling, climbing, and handling heavy pipe, valves, tools, and materials.
• Must be comfortable working in active industrial plants, manufacturing facilities, shutdown environments, elevated work areas, confined spaces, and outdoor heavy commercial jobsites with varying conditions.

• Fabricate and install utility and process piping systems that may include compressed air, water, steam, condensate, chilled water, chemical, production, and other project-specific services.
• Verify line routing, spool orientation, valve access, equipment nozzle alignment, drain and vent locations, slope, elevation, and required clearances before final installation.
• Coordinate with Fabricators and Welders to ensure field measurements, spool dimensions, joint preparation, fit-up, and installation sequencing support quality welding and efficient erection.
• Install and modify pipe supports, hangers, guides, anchors, shoes, and brackets while coordinating steel erection or structural modifications with qualified Ironworkers and Fabricators.
• Coordinate rigging plans, lift paths, tag-line control, and spool positioning with qualified Riggers and supervision before moving heavy or awkward piping components.
• Support equipment rigging and installation, boiler and chiller piping, skid manufacturing and installation, plant relocations, facility expansions, new construction, and capital-project work as assigned.
• Support material traceability, component identification, inspection requests, test packages, punch lists, flushing, pressure testing, and turnover documentation as required by the project.
• Perform code repair and code installation support only under approved procedures, quality controls, and applicable project authorization.
• Ability to transition between fabrication-shop, field-installation, maintenance, outage, and shutdown assignments based on project requirements.
