We embrace inclusion and individual skills, ideas, and knowledge. Position Summary We have an exciting opportunity to join our team as a Physician Assistant–SICU in Sunset Park, Brooklyn. The Physician Assistant will provide care to patients in the Department and in subspecialties as needed, following established standards, procedures, and practices, and giving specific patient care directions to nursing and other staff. Job Responsibilities Practice within the scope of delineated privileges. Provide direct care to individuals and families consistent with the philosophy of NYU Langone Health-Brooklyn and the departmental/institutional goals. This includes ensuring safety, well-being of patients and visitors, and maintaining patient rights and confidentiality. Provide diagnostic and assessment services to patients utilizing a problem‑solving approach: obtain a detailed history and perform physical examinations on assigned patients; consider the age, growth, and developmental stage of the patient during assessment, treatment, and care. Write appropriate orders, including for narcotics, stimulants, and depressant drugs, after consulting with a physician. Implement a therapeutic regime or protocol appropriate for the diagnosis in accordance with institutional protocols and after consultation with the attending physician. Monitor the patient’s response to the therapeutic regime and notify the attending physician of changes in the patient’s condition. Consult specialists and/or medical preceptors for complex patient care situations. Document all patient encounters, including assessment and progress notes, treatment rendered, patient teaching, and follow‑up referral. Maintain required unit records, reports, and statistics necessary for administrative purposes and reimbursement, including discharge summaries. Evaluate and manage critical care patients. Perform emergency life‑saving procedures in the absence of a physician. Participate in rounds with the attending staff and/or housestaff on assigned patients. Collaboratively work with other healthcare professionals and families of patients in the physical and emotional transitions of admissions, care, and discharge. Provide preventive health services, including counseling and teaching in health maintenance and related areas. Participate in activities related to quality improvement as needed. Participate in committees as appropriate. Attend all scheduled departmental meetings and conferences. May need to be on call during non‑working hours to assist attendings in urgent or emergent situations/procedures. Direct, instruct, and evaluate activities of PA and medical students as appropriate. Participate in activities fostering professional growth and maintenance of certification. Minimum Qualifications • Bachelors or master’s degree from an accredited Physician Assistant program. Currently licensed as a Physician Assistant in the State of New York. Basic Life Support certification through the American Heart Association and a DEA certificate required. Departments requiring at least 1 year of relevant experience: Emergency Department (ED) Robotics Cath Lab SICU – Surgical ICU Orthopedics Neurosurgery Required Licenses: Physician Assistant Lic‑NYS, National COM Cert Physician Assistant, Basic Life Support Cert. Preferred Qualifications

• Advanced Life Support certification (ACLS, PALS) through the American Heart Association or Neonatal Resuscitation certification (NRP) through the American Academy of Pediatrics may be required based on selected privileges.
• One year of applicable job experience preferred.

Actual salaries depend on experience, specialty, education, and hospital needs. Salary range does not include bonuses or incentive pay.
