Heartland Acoustics & Interiors is an acoustic ceiling construction company seeking an experienced Controller to join its dynamic team. As a key member of the Leadership Team, the Controller will play a pivotal role in overseeing all accounting and financial operations, ensuring the company’s financial health, and supporting strategic growth initiatives. This hands-on leadership position offers the opportunity to make a significant impact in a fast-paced environment, working closely with the Executive Team and supervising accounting and administrative staff. Responsibilities Serve as a member of the Leadership Team, contributing to strategic planning and decision-making Lead the Accounting Department, overseeing accounts payable, accounts receivable, and payroll functions Supervise and support accounting, administrative, and clerical staff, including hiring, training, coaching, and performance reviews Maintain and document accounting policies and internal controls to ensure compliance and accuracy Drive process improvements and automation within the department Oversee month-end and year-end close processes Manage treasury functions, including cash flow planning, banking relationships, and collections strategy Lead budgeting, forecasting, and long-term financial planning initiatives Develop financial models and scenario analyses to support company growth Prepare and analyze internal financial reports and dashboards for leadership Ensure compliance with GAAP and all tax, payroll, and government reporting requirements Coordinate annual external audits and prepare necessary documentation Monitor debt levels and ensure compliance with financial covenants Administer the Sage 100 Contractor system and lead system improvements Support pricing analysis, contract review, and capital investment evaluation Perform other duties as assigned by the President/CEO Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance 5+ years of accounting experience, including team leadership Experience in construction accounting Strong knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting Proficiency in Sage 100 or similar ERP system Ability to translate financial information into actionable recommendations for operational leaders Experience preparing for audits or lender reviews (preferred) Benefits Competitive salary Comprehensive health benefits (medical, dental, vision, and life insurance) AFLAC, FSA, and HSA options Paid time off Company-paid disability coverage (long-term and short-term) Matching 401(k) plan Legal assistance through Metlaw Equal Employment Opportunity & Reasonable Accommodation Heartland Acoustics & Interiors is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
