This position does not offer any sponsorship.QualificationsMS or BS degree in chemical engineering, chemistry, biochemical engineering, or related applied science fieldScientist II, BS with 1-2 years of relevant experience; MS with no experienceScientist III, BS with 3-5 years of relevant experience; MS with 1-2 years of experienceRequired Skills and ExperienceAt least 1 year of previous laboratory experienceHands-on experience with HPLC/UHPLC/MS (ultra / high performance liquid chromatography / mass spectrometry) systems, highly preferredUnderstanding of organic chemistry or materials characterization sufficient to support chemical process development using automation platformsExperience handling chemicalsExperience with wet chemistry techniquesStrong organizational skills, including the organization and management of shared laboratory spacesStrong attention to detail, including careful reading of equipment manuals and effective troubleshooting of new instruments and systemsHigh self-motivation and a commitment to continuous improvementStrong observational and problem-solving skillsStrong collaboration and teamwork skillsDesired Skills and ExperiencePrior experience with robotic or automation platforms in a laboratory setting, highly preferredIdeal candidate has an aptitude or desire to learn programming for various robotic platforms and use that skill set to help solve complex chemical problemsExperience with high-throughput experimentation and analysisProgramming experience in any language is desired (e.g., Python, C++)Mechanically inclined, with an aptitude for troubleshootingResponsibilities Executing automation workflows for high-throughput reaction screening activities as well as solid-dispensing.Execute robotic workflow for high throughput execution and analysisMaintain the laboratory space, including stocking supplies, keeping work areas tidy, and managing waste containersAssist in the development and implementation of automation platforms for small-molecule process research and developmentThese platforms include high-throughput systems from Tecan and Unchained Labs, as well as medium-throughput platforms from Technobis, Mettler Toledo Quantos, Trajan Chronect, and similar systemsAbout ParexelParexel FSP includes the CMC Operations group.
