Job Summary The Phlebotomist performs phlebotomy functions including venipuncture and microcollection ensuring quality and timeliness of collection, processing, and distribution of specimens and input of required information into LIS. Performs Point of Care (POC) tests as defined by the department. Acts as Senior phlebotomist when circumstances require. Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent required Graduate of an accredited phlebotomy training program (preferred) Certification by a recognized certifying agency preferred At least one year of hospital based experience (preferred) Certification by a recognized certifying agency is required within first 18-months of employment (required) Core Competencies Patient-Centered Care – Demonstrates a commitment to delivering safe, compassionate, and high-quality care that prioritizes the well-being and satisfaction of patients and their families.
