Neonatal Nurse Practitioner (NNP-BC) or Neonatal Physician Assistant (PA-C)The University of Maryland Medical Center (UMMC) is seeking a Neonatal Nurse Practitioner (NNP-BC) or Physician Assistant (PA-C) to join our multidisciplinary team in our Level IV Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU).The UMMC Galisano Children's Hospital is a comprehensive children's hospital providing care to pediatric patients across the full spectrum of acute care. Our hospital includes:Pediatric Emergency DepartmentPediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU) and Progressive Care UnitComplex Labor and Delivery UnitComprehensive ambulatory care services52-bed Level IV NICUUMMC clinicians provide exceptional, highly specialized care to critically ill pediatric patients from across Maryland and beyond.The Neonatal APP will provide complex, high-acuity care to some of the most critically ill newborns in the state. Our 37,000-square-foot NICU is supported by a specialized neonatal transport team, state-of-the-art technology in our delivery rooms, and a highly collaborative multidisciplinary team dedicated to improving outcomes for critically ill neonates.This is an excellent opportunity to join a team of like-minded providers who are passionate about caring for Maryland's most vulnerable patients.Role & ResponsibilitiesThe Neonatal APP team provides 24/7 coverage for patients in the NICU. Responsibilities include:Providing comprehensive daily management of critically ill neonatesSupporting the medical team through clinical leadership and resource managementServing as an educational resource for nursing staff, medical staff, and patient familiesDeveloping and implementing patient care plans in collaboration with attending neonatologistsUtilizing evidence-based interventions and current best practicesProviding clinical support and education to members of the multidisciplinary teamWorking collaboratively with Neonatal Fellows and attending physicians within the Division of NeonatologyParticipating in neonatal transport coverage through the Maryland Regional Neonatal Transport Program (MRNTP)In addition to clinical responsibilities, all APPs participate in professional practice activities at varying levels.
