Beverage Manager

As Beverage Manager, you help shape Nemacolin’s beverage identity through knowledgeable wine and cocktail service, thoughtful product stewardship, and the development of a team that brings confidence and hospitality to every guest and member interaction. You lead the daily performance of beverage outlets while balancing associate development, service readiness, purchasing, inventory, and financial priorities. Through your expertise and hands-on leadership, you help create memorable experiences, strengthen beverage relationships, and build sustainable results for the department and the resort. What You Will Create A distinctive and memorable beverage experience by elevating wine and cocktail knowledge, guiding tastings, and providing hands-on leadership across beverage outlets A confident, knowledgeable, and engaged beverage team by attracting, developing, scheduling, mentoring, and retaining associates across bartending, cocktail service, and sommelier functions Consistent beverage standards across outlets by strengthening product knowledge, service expectations, operational readiness, and follow-through on department priorities A reliable and thoughtfully managed beverage program by maintaining appropriate par levels, inventory controls, ordering guides, purchasing practices, and product availability Sustainable financial and revenue performance by identifying opportunities for growth, managing purchases within established guidelines, reviewing financial information, and balancing product quality with responsible resource management Stronger guest relationships through a beverage team that can confidently guide selections, communicate product stories, and create personalized experiences around wine and cocktails A culture of continuous learning and professional development by creating opportunities for tastings, coaching, knowledge-sharing, and meaningful growth within the beverage profession Clear direction and organized department performance through effective scheduling, communication, reporting, documentation, and collaboration with resort leadership and business partners What You Can Expect A hands-on management role shaping wine and cocktail experiences across a dynamic luxury hospitality operation Daily interaction with bartenders, sommeliers, cocktail servers, management, associates, guests, vendors, and other business contacts A balance of floor-level leadership, associate development, beverage administration, purchasing, inventory management, reporting, and planning Regularly changing priorities that require independent judgment, timely decision-making, and follow-through under deadline pressure Opportunities to influence beverage quality, team capability, guest relationships, product strategy, and financial performance A collaborative environment where beverage leadership connects with broader culinary, restaurant, and resort priorities What You Bring Genuine enthusiasm for wine, cocktails, beverage service, and the opportunity to create meaningful guest experiences through product knowledge Strong leadership and mentoring skills that build confidence, accountability, engagement, and retention within a diverse beverage team Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the professionalism to interact effectively across all levels of the organization and with external contacts Sound judgment and critical-thinking skills when balancing competing priorities, solving complex problems, and making independent decisions Strong organization and time management, with the ability to manage immediate operational needs alongside longer-term projects and department goals A hands-on, proactive approach with strong follow-through and the ability to remain composed and effective in high-pressure situations Discretion, tact, and professionalism when handling confidential information and sensitive matters Flexible scheduling based on business and operational needs, including varying hours Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent Two to three years of beverage or restaurant management experience Three or more years of bartending experience Ability to successfully complete required skill testing with near-perfect scores Ability to obtain and maintain RAMP certification and comply with applicable Pennsylvania requirements for responsible alcohol service Basic mathematical ability with a knowledge of financial systems and proficiency with spreadsheet software Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint, and Adobe Acrobat Ability to effectively use required office equipment and applications Ability to review and comprehend necessary documentation Additional Information This job description is not intended to be a comprehensive list of all duties, responsibilities, or activities associated with this position.
