Medical Director (MD/DO) – Skilled Nursing Facility | Full-Time | Matthews, NCFamily Medicine, Internal MedicineLocation: Matthews, NC (Southeast Charlotte area) Coverage across two SNF locationsFull-TimePosition OverviewA well-established Skilled Nursing Facility group in Matthews, North Carolina is seeking a full-time Medical Director to provide clinical leadership and medical oversight across two nearby SNF locations. This is an excellent opportunity for a physician interested in post-acute care, geriatrics, and medical leadership.Prior SNF or long-term-care experience is preferred but not required. The organization is open to a strong Family Medicine, Internal Medicine, Geriatric, or Hospital Medicine physician with an interest in medical direction.Key ResponsibilitiesServe as Medical Director for two Skilled Nursing Facility locations in the Matthews/Charlotte areaProvide clinical oversight and support for resident care, quality initiatives, and medical policiesCoordinate medical care and collaborate with nursing leadership, therapy teams, consultants, and attending providersParticipate in quality-assurance and performance-improvement activities, including infection control, falls, wounds, readmissions, and regulatory complianceSupport facility survey readiness and adherence to federal and North Carolina SNF requirementsReview and help implement resident-care policies and clinical protocolsProvide guidance on complex clinical cases, medication management, and transitions of careBuild strong working relationships with facility leadership and community providersQualificationsMD or DO with an active, unrestricted North Carolina medical license, or eligibility to obtain oneBoard certification in Family Medicine, Internal Medicine, Geriatric Medicine, or a related specialty preferredPrior SNF, long-term care, post-acute, rehab, geriatric, or hospitalist experience preferredPrior Medical Director experience is a plus, but not requiredStrong clinical judgment, communication, and leadership skillsInterest in quality improvement, regulatory compliance, and interdisciplinary collaborationAbility to support two facilities within close proximityCompensation & BenefitsCompetitive compensation packageFull-time scheduleMedical Director title and leadership opportunityBenefits package, details to be discussed during the interview process
