We are seeking individuals who can uphold our company values: preparing healthy and delicious meals by following simple recipes using organic, all-natural, and local ingredients. Our menu satisfies a customer base with a variety of dietary restrictions and lifestyle choices such as vegan, gluten-sensitive, dairy-free, etc. Our Line Cooks must be team players, respect all staff, prove dependability, and show initiative. Our Asheville cafés are open from 8 a.m. until 4 p.m., and shifts are available between the hours of 7 a.m. through 4:30 p.m.—no late nights are required! Requirements Must have previous experience in a fast-paced restaurant environment Must have weekend availability Ability to work on your feet for six (6) hours or more a day High level of professionalism Excellent verbal communication and organization skills Must be able to lift at least 40 pounds regularly ServSafe certification At least two years of restaurant experience Benefits No night shifts 50% Meal Discount PTO up to one (1) week per year Wellness Benefits through MercyMe $50 free shoe credit Free Employee Assistance Network benefits The Line Cook's primary role is the accurate, efficient, and timely preparation, cooking, and assembly of prep and menu items in the kitchen with the goal of giving customers the best eating experience possible. Responsibilities Knowledge of menu items, recipes, and preparations per Green Sage standards Training, knowledge, and safe use of kitchen equipment to perform all duties Prepare all prep items per recipes and proper procedures Prepare menu items quickly and accurately according to tickets and customer requests Ensure that customer table orders are complete and correct before leaving the kitchen Maintain control, organization, and communication during execution of orders at all times Maintain freshness and sanitation standards at all times per health codes and policies Receive and store deliveries using proper rotation and dating procedures Set up, break down, and clean the kitchen according to checklists and guidelines Assist with expediting, food running, or other duties as requested by the General Manager In addition to the specific duties of the position, all team members are expected to uphold the six expectations of the Green Sage culture.
