Assistant Property Manager

Position Summary

RMG Management is seeking an experienced, hands-on Assistant Property Manager to support the Portfolio Manager on the day-to-day operations, maintenance, and Tenant/Vendor relations across multiple Class B commercial and retail properties in the Woodland Hills / San Fernando Valley area. This role focuses and serves as liaison between Tenants and Ownership, supports upper management, and helps oversee the maintenance Team.

Key ResponsibilitiesTenant Relations & Operations

• Serve as a primary point of contact for Tenant inquiries, work orders and service requests, and lease compliance matters.
• Conduct routine property inspections of common areas, building systems and equipment and vacant spaces to identify maintenance needs.
• Manage and facilitate move-in and move-out procedures.
• Oversee and coordinate building maintenance Team and vendors to resolve any issues at hand.
• Assist in collection and resolution of rent and Tenant charges.
• Review, approve and process all accounts payable and statements.
• Obtain and analyze bids for repair and maintenance work and coordinate vendor activities.
• Track and perform tenant and capital improvements.
• Assist with annual operating budgets, capital expenditure planning and CAM reconciliations[MK1] .
• Knowledge of applicable codes, regulations, governmental agency requirements, and Company directives preferred.
• Use technology such as smart phones, tablets, computers, web-based applications, and Yardi.
• While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally required to stand, walk or sit; use hands to finger, handle or feel objects; reach with hands and arms; climb stairs; balance; stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl; talk or hear; or smell. The employee may be required to occasionally lift and/or move objects up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus[MK2] .

Qualifications

• BA degree or equivalent experience.
• 3-5 years of experience in commercial/retail property management, including multi-site responsibility.
• Valid Real Estate Salesperson License (preferred).
• Prior experience supervising or leading maintenance/engineering staff (required).
• Proficient knowledge of Yardi software experience (required).
• Strong understanding of commercial lease administration and property accounting processes.
• Valid Driver's License (required).
• English required; bilingual English/Spanish a plus.

Schedule

Full-time. After-hours emergency response rotation as-needed across the managed portfolio; specific schedule and on-call compensation to be discussed at offer stage.

Compensation

Pay range: $28.00–$36.00 per hour ($58,240–$74,880 annualized), depending on experience and certifications.
