Mechanical engineer

Opportunity Mechanical Engineer position to design and test mechanical systems for food equipment machinery. Report to the Innovation Team Lead. The role involves working with cross‑functional teams to define customer needs, develop new features, and ensure designs meet specifications. Responsibilities Work in teams on the development, testing, investigation, and verification of designs. Pay attention to the implementation of function, cleaning aspects, reliability, safety, production technologies, and cost price. Build maintenance and mechanical design of machinery, layouts, assemblies, and components to fulfill design requirements. Prepare assembly/detail drawings and part lists. Produce mechanical deliverables according to plan. Ensure work follows company guidelines (MEDS) and international standards. Delegate tasks to engineering partners as needed. Work well under time constraints and handle production setbacks. Enjoy learning, researching, and working within a multicultural company. Act as a team player and handle feedback constructively. Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or Diploma in Mechanical Technology, or comparable work experience. 5+ years of experience in automatic, industrial food processing equipment or similar fields in product development. Experience with 3D design tools and proficiency in CAD systems such as AutoCAD, Inventor, Creo, or similar. Demonstrated mechanical aptitude through hands‑on experience in design, testing, or troubleshooting. Knowledge of mechanical design principles and product development processes. Ability to apply advanced mathematical concepts and engineering principles. Familiarity with lifecycle management of design data, including CAD models, drawings, and ECNs. Comfort working in a multicultural, multi‑discipline organization. Knowledge of relevant production techniques, materials, and components. Understanding of the food processing industry requirements. Experience with mechanics and industrial automation. Understanding of the value of standardization and modularization. Travel & Location The position is located in Kingston, NY.
