Marine Electrician-Shipyard

Job Description We are seeking an experienced Marine Electrician with provenexpertise in building, packing, and sealing Multi-Cable Transits (MCTs) aboardnaval and commercial vessels. The ideal candidate will have a strong backgroundin shipboard electrical systems, cable installation, and NAVSEA or maritimesafety standards. This role requires hands-on technical skill, attention todetail, and the ability to work in confined and industrial shipyard environments. Key Responsibilities Install,build, pack, and seal Multi-Cable Transits (MCTs) in accordance withNAVSEA and shipyard specifications Pull,route, support, and terminate electrical, fiber optic, and communicationcables through MCTs and ship structures Readand interpret electrical blueprints, schematics, cable schedules, andpenetration drawings Installand secure cableways, hangers, brackets, and penetration hardware Performcontinuity testing, insulation resistance testing, and basictroubleshooting of shipboard electrical systems Ensurefire-stop integrity and watertight sealing of all penetrations Labeland dress cables to meet shipboard standards and quality requirements Followall safety procedures related to confined spaces, hot work, fallprotection, and electrical hazards Maintainclean and organized work areas in accordance with shipyard safety policies Coordinatewith other trades including shipfitters, welders, painters, and engineers Documentcompleted work and report discrepancies or deficiencies to supervision Required Qualifications Minimum3–5 years of experience as a Marine Electrician in a shipyard or maritimeenvironment Demonstratedexperience building and packing Multi-Cable Transits (MCTs) Knowledgeof MCT systems such as Roxtec, Nelson, or equivalent Abilityto read and understand shipboard electrical drawings and specifications Experiencepulling and terminating power, control, and fiber optic cables Familiaritywith NAVSEA standards and shipboard installation practices Abilityto work in confined spaces, at heights, and in physically demandingconditions Strongattention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship Preferred Qualifications NAVSEACableway or MCT certification Fiberoptic termination or testing experience OSHA10 or OSHA 30 certification Experienceaboard U.S. Navy vessels Physical Requirements Abilityto lift up to 50 lbs Abilityto climb ladders, scaffolding, and work in tight spaces Comfortableworking aboard vessels and shipyard environments Work Environment Shipyards,dry docks, and onboard vessels Exposureto noise, dust, weather elements, and industrial hazards Use ofPPE including hard hats, respirators, and fall protection #J-18808-Ljbffr Kaizen Lab Inc.
