Medical Lab Tech (Generalist) - DaysCity/State: State College, PennsylvaniaShift: Primarily Day shift with weekend rotation; 5 - 8 hr shifts per week, 8 Hour Flex, 07:00-15:00Contract Length: 13 weeksStart Date: 08/05/2026Job Description:Under the direction of supervisors, the Medical Lab Tech is directly responsible for the prompt and accurate performance of work assigned. Performs analyses on blood and other body fluids for use in diagnosis and treatment of disease. Maintains proficiency to work in all clinical departments of the laboratory.Responsibilities:Performs assigned duties accurately and efficiently according to established procedures.Uses proper techniques and equipment in the performance of duties.Prepares specimens for processing, ensuring accuracy and proper testing as ordered.Processes and analyzes specimens by manual or automated methods for reporting results.Assures quality control criteria are met before releasing reports.Maintains organization to avoid confusion and potential for error.Assists with training of technical personnel.Maintains current knowledge of laboratory and hospital policies.Participates in proficiency testing or quality assurance activities.Maintains departmental equipment and supplies in working condition.Troubleshoots both instrumental and procedural problems.Assists with implementing new procedures and evaluating new products.Requirements:Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.No previous experience required.Certified MT with ASCP, AMT, NCCLS, or equivalent certification.Certified MLS with ASCP, AMT, NCCLS, or equivalent certification.Continually maintains good rapport and cooperation with hospital departments and staff.Client Details Address 1800 East Park Avenue City State College State PA Zip Code 16801
