Lead Clinician-HSSP

3850 Crenshaw Boulevard, Los Angeles, CA 90008, USA Under the direction of the Adult Specialty Program Director and HSSP Program Manager, the Lead Clinician supports the FSP ICM HSSP program by managing daily operations, sharing crisis response tasks, and training staff in crisis intervention. This role also coordinates outreach and engagement, oversees timely client assessment and enrollment, assists new staff onboarding, and evaluates program performance with the manager to improve service delivery. Must be able to pass California State Department of Justice criminal background investigation, Live Scan and/or fingerprinting. Must have a valid California Driver’s License and the availability of a car with adequate car insurance. Qualifications Master’s Degree in Social Work or related Qualifies as a Qualified Mental Health. Professional (QMHP) by the Department of Mental Health. Professional licensure in Social Work (LCSW) is preferred but not required. If not licensed, must be eligible to submit licensure with the California Board of Behavioral Sciences. Must be registered with the California Board of Behavioral Sciences and must maintain Must have at least 2 years of experience providing mental health services post-licensure. Bilingual English/Spanish preferred but not required. Must obtain and maintain LPS. Qualifies as a Qualified Mental Health Professional (QMHP) by the Department of Mental Health. Must have at least 2 years’ experience providing specialty mental health field-based services to adults with severe and persistent mental health disorders, who have a history of homelessness, co-occurring disorders, and/or incarceration. Experience must include work within Project based housing as mental health provider on site and navigating subsidized housing processes within various county housing departments i.e. LASHA and Housing Authority. Duties and Responsibilities: Support program manager with ensuring program performance aligns with program goals, including housing stability, reduced homelessness and criminal justice involvement, improved functioning and employability, and reduced reliance on urgent psychiatric, emergency department, and hospital services. Participates in staff meetings to contribute ideas for program development and staff training and leads team meetings when necessary. Supports team members to boost productivity and clinical services, as directed by the program manager. Assist Program manager with the development of new processes and procedures to improve the function of the program and its overall contract and PSE expectations. Review initial, quarterly, semiannual and annual paperwork and help staff address areas needing improvement per the finding from your review of outcomes from meetings with the chart analyst and program manager. Provide supervision to assigned staff, per the direction of the program manager, following clear instruction of the tasks and topics to address within a 90 minute maximum Documenting supervisor using the provided tool by program manager. Maintain LPS designation to assist with crisis situations during office hours and on-call duty. Provide crisis support during business hours upon request from leadership by going to the site and assisting the team in crisis resolution. Ensure the team and your performance embodies the emphasis of collaboration, communication, and community interaction the program requires. Participates in on-call. Coordinates care with the treatment. Monitor and support timely linkage of potential clients to services in accordance with access-to-care requirements, including assisting staff with referrals to outside providers and coordinating appointments for hard linkage. Participate in weekly clinical meetings by providing updated information on all assigned clients. Attends site meetings alongside the program manager for continuity of care. Participate in leadership development initiatives at the agency, department, and site levels. Submit billing documentation for services that qualify as Follow the 24-hour documentation policy for all other service documents and progress notes. Assist team members in evaluating care requirements and facilitating transitions to new levels of care when necessary, updating any changes in the LOCUS tracker. Follow Client Supportive Services (CSS) Request protocols when partnering with team members to request funds for eligible Provide education to team members when director and appropriate. Work with the program manager and the lead clinician to track CSS requests, dollars, and ensure team compliance. Assist in the management of housing support e. tracking request for rent assistance with manage care plans and the training the process of requesting support through management care plans and the department of Homeless Services and Housing (HSH) Identifies resources that assist clients' general needs to help ensure high-quality care and positive outcome measures. Oversees OMAs and makes sure staff complete necessary paperwork when a client experiences a significant event requiring documentation. Attend regular meetings with the program manager to review key program matters, discuss needs, and consider improvements. Organizes group services both collectively and individually, based on the overall requirements of each site or the entire program. Perform additional duties as assigned by supervisors, department, or agency heads as needed. Environment/Working Conditions Routine duties involve interacting with a variety of individuals within the agency, clients, and the community. Regular travel to homes, shelters, hospitals, encampments, and community locations. Frequent exposure to high-acuity behavioral health situations and psychiatric crises. Daily functions which may include exposure to client’s/family members from various ethnic, cultural and socio-economic backgrounds, with communicable diseases and some may be prone to violence. Requires flexibility and responsiveness to urgent operational and clinical concerns. Seeks opportunities to facilitate change and encourages others to do the same. Maintains a constructive and positive outlook. Travel to site locations and outside locations as needed or requested. Position requires driving, valid driver’s license, a motor vehicle clearance, and proof of insurance is required and must be maintained throughout employment.
