We currently have a career opportunity available for an experienced Pastry Cook Full-Time. This is an ideal position for those with professional baking experience, who are creative and have an eye for detail.

Key responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

• Prepare pastries, baked goods and desserts for the various food & beverage outlets in the hotel as well as banquet functions and daily specials for the Red Salt Room Fine Dining Restaurant.
• Continually develop new recipes under the guidance of the Pastry Sous Chef.
• Assist and help coordinate all pastry menu planning and implementation.
• Ensure food standards and presentation are maintained and always improved.
• Organize pastry production in a cost-effective manner and in accordance with health & safety standards.
• Maintain clean work environment, responsible for proper storage of all pastry kitchen items.

Qualifications:

• Formal culinary training.
• Pastry production experience required.
• Prior experience in a luxury hotel preferred.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
• Position requires standing and walking for extended periods of time.
• Must be able to lift/carry heavy items, some more than 25 lbs.
• Attention to detail and ability to follow recipes.
• Flawless track record with attendance.
• Strong team-working skills.
• Positive attitude.
• Food handler's safety certified a plus.
• Neat, quick and efficient worker.
• Highly independent.
• Flexibility with scheduling is a MUST; schedules will include weekends, holidays, morning shifts, and evening shifts.
