Drafting Technician

Talascend is currently seeking a Drafting Technician for a contract opportunity with our client in Houston, Texas .


Overview


This role involves completing layouts, drawing, and revising detailed part, assembly, and installation engineering drawings using computer-aided design tools. The position requires attention to detail and adherence to standard engineering drafting practices to support manufacturing and design improvements.


Responsibilities

• Complete layouts, drawings, and revisions of detailed part, assembly, and installation engineering drawings.
• Use computer-aided design software such as CAD, CAM, or CATIA to develop and modify drawings.
• Determine scaling, insert reference planes, center and dimension lines, and prepare section views.
• Prepare specifications for parts, assemblies, and installations.
• Create complete production detail drawings and contribute to design modifications to enhance product quality.
• Support manufacturing operations through detailed documentation and drawings.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent
• 1 to 3 years of relevant experience
• Experience with computer-aided design tools such as CAD, CAM, or CATIA
• Strong attention to detail and understanding of engineering drawing standards
