Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Cardiovascular Pediatric Intensive Care Unit Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 hours Experience: Minimum 1 year required License: North Carolina or Compact license required Certifications: BLS, PALS Must-Have: - Previous charge experience preferred - Patient ratios experience: 2 - Epic charting system experience preferred - Community hospital experience preferred - Long-term acute care (LTAC) experience preferred - Trauma Level I and II experience preferred Description: Interviews will be conducted via phone call. The role requires expertise in various critical care skills. Candidates should possess experience in end-tidal CO2 monitoring, managing ports, and handling acute/chronic renal failure. In addition, candidates should be skilled in administering blood products and chemotherapy. Familiarity with anti-seizure medications and antiarrhythmics is also required. Experience with managing arterial lines, intubation, and various ventilation techniques, including BiPAP/CPAP management, is necessary. Candidates will be expected to care for ventilated patients, undertake central line blood draws, and monitor central venous pressure. Competence in handling congenital heart disease and continuous renal replacement therapy is essential. Additionally, experience with ECMO and ventricular assist devices is critical. Candidates should be proficient in interpreting arterial blood gases and dysrhythmias, as well as administering IV vasopressors. Experience in pediatric care, including cardiac intensive care, is expected. The unit will involve care of neonates, infants, adolescents, and pediatric patients. The daily census is approximately 20 patients with a total of 20 beds. Collaborative interdisciplinary support is provided, including intravenous teams, respiratory services, and pharmacy. Candidates must be responsive and adhere to compliance and attendance policies. All required certifications must be held at the time of application. Candidates who have been previously employed in a similar capacity within the last six months need to disclose that information. Attendance is monitored, with a limit of three absences per contract duration.
