Job Description This position administers family‑centered nursing care to patients, advises on health maintenance and disease prevention, and provides skilled assistance in navigating the health care system as appropriate to the developmental, cultural, emotional, and medical needs of the patient and their families. The Level III RN oversees and directs patient care activities and unit personnel, providing leadership through multidisciplinary teamwork. Remain current with evidence and knowledge, accessing, assessing, and applying necessary information to practice. Integrate all contributions to patient care, acting as a strategist and manager of the patient’s journey, including interdisciplinary hand‑offs. Record medical histories and symptoms, assist with diagnostic tests and analysis, operate medical or information technology, administer treatments and medications, and facilitate follow‑up and rehabilitation. Educate patients and families on illness management, warning signs, home care needs, diet, nutrition, mobility, exercise, self‑medication, and emergency care. Collaborate with manager to ensure resource allocation, development and implementation of strategies reflect unit operation needs. Demonstrate Engaged Professional Practice model integration, guiding staff through decision making. Qualifications Required Current Registered Nurse (RN) license through the MN Board of Nursing. Documentation of completion of a professional nursing program (RN program). Current nursing specialty certification (or obtain within 12 months) and a Bachelor’s degree in Nursing or other health‑care related field. Demonstrated leadership experience. Current CPR‑BLS certification for Health Care Providers by the American Heart Association (exception: Telehealth RNs). Current PALS certification required for RN’s working in PICU, RN’s cross‑trained in PICU, and peri‑anesthesia nurses providing direct patient care. Interest in working with people with short‑term or long‑term disabilities beginning in childhood. Excellent customer service skills. Physically able to work required hours and transport patients. Strongly Preferred Minimum of 3 years nursing experience. Master’s degree in Nursing or other health‑care related field.
