Program Planning Specialist Teacher – Queens Family of Schools (SSRCE) The South Shore Regional Centre for Education (SSRCE) practices the culturally responsive pedagogy approach in providing an inclusive, diverse, equitable, secure and healthy education that supports learning and success both personally and academically to the 59,000 residents of Lunenburg and Queens Counties. Position Details Requsition#: 91050 Subject Area(s): Program Planning Location: SSRCE Status: 100% Permanent Start Date: Effective August 1, 2026 Deadline to Apply: May 21, 2026 at 11:59pm AST Minimum Qualifications Bachelor of Education Degree Masters Degree in Special Education, Diverse Learners (SLDNE), Master of Education in Inclusive Education (Curriculum & Instruction) or other directly related Masters Degree; or a related field such as Literacy, Numeracy, or Technology Minimum Experience Minimum five (5) years successful classroom teaching experience Minimum two (2) years successful support teaching experience (i.e. Resource, Learning Centre, Learning Disabilities Support) Minimum three (3) years experience in the use of

to implement the Program Planning Process including the development and implementation of Individual Program Plans Minimum Ability Assessed on ability to effectively deal with situations that are likely to arise (via interview process) Internal applicants must meet a minimum threshold of 70% where they do not have experience in the position External applicants must meet a minimum threshold of 70% Responsibilities Establishing systems & routines SEL Programming Implementation of Adaptations & IPPs Program Planning Process TIENET Supporting students with Academic and Behaviour Challenges Scheduling and caseload management Selection of appropriate evidence-based interventions to support students, Transition planning, Complex Case support Additional Assets (Preferred) Focus on supporting the development and implementation of programming Supporting teachers, learning support teachers, educational assistants, and administration with program planning process implementation Support through modelling, co‑teaching, observation/feedback Knowledge and experience of teaching support teams and student planning teams and the program planning process Knowledge of classroom management and building positive student relationships Knowledge of local community supports Knowledge of transition planning Ability to develop and deliver professional learning to a variety of groups Knowledge of DI, UDL, MTSS Security Checks Child Abuse Register Check Criminal Record / Vulnerable Sector Checks required within last 3 months EEO Statement SSRCE actively encourages applications from under‑represented groups, particularly people of African Nova Scotian, African Canadian and African ancestry and Mi’kmaw/Indigenous ancestry.
