Custodial PositionEssential functions and responsibilities:Performs general, routine custodial duties, to include dusting, mopping, vacuuming, cleaning restrooms, and restocking paper and soap suppliesPerforms routine maintenance to custodial equipment and suppliesEmpties trash receptacles, hazard bins into a hazard barrel, disposes trash into compactors and/or dumpsters, and bags trash for proper disposalEnsure common areas such as break rooms, lobbies, and kitchenettes are cleaned and stockedMaintain breakroomFollow instructions about chemical use and safety hazards in the workplaceWash and buff floors including the manufacturing facilityEnsure cleaning materials and supplies are stored safely and orderlyMaintain, submit a purchase requisition, and restock cleaning materials and suppliesMake note of the need for equipment repairReport any potential food safety, quality or food defense concerns to the plant manager or quality personnelMaintain product safety, legality, regulatory compliance, and quality systemsFollow all documented Good Manufacturing PracticesMust follow all company policies and proceduresEssential skills and experience:Ability to operate vacuums and other related equipmentAbility to safely use cleaning equipment and suppliesAbility to use hand and power tools applicable to tradeAbility to lift and manipulate heavy objectsAbility to understand written and verbal instructionsOther duties as requiredSuccess factors/job competencies:Proficient at time managementAbility to work with little supervisionGood attitudePhysical demands and work environment:Considerable physical activity. Requires heavy physical work; heavy lifting, pushing, or pulling required of objects up to 50 pounds. Physical work is a primary part (more than 70%) of job.Work environment involves some exposure to hazards or physical risk, which require following basic safety precautions. Employee may also be required to wear safety glasses and/or safety gloves.Work may involve moderate exposure to unusual elements such as extreme temperatures, dirt, dust, fumes, smoke, unpleasant odors, and/or loud noises.
