Job Overview This is a PRN SNF Speech‑Language Pathologist position located at Fayette Medical Center in Fayette, AL. Responsibilities Identify, assess, and provide treatment for individuals of all ages with communication/dysphagia disorders. Manage and supervise programs and services related to human communication and its disorders. Consult with individuals, families, caregivers, and service providers to address communication disorders. Physical Demands Communication and hearing skills required for evaluation and treatment of speech/language disorders. Special Demands Desire to work with individuals with temporary and/or chronic physical, mental, and developmental challenges. Knowledge of medical terminology to understand prescriptions and communicate with physicians and staff. Preferably, knowledge and experience in the administration of video fluoroscopic evaluations and therapy for patients with dysphagia. Ability to work with individuals of all ages from neonates to geriatrics. Job Qualifications Master's or doctoral degree, certificate of clinical competence from the American Speech‑Language‑Hearing Association, and Alabama state license. Training, Experience, Other Preferred completion of a clinical fellowship year or supervision by a speech pathologist with a certificate of clinical competence. COVID‑19 vaccination is preferred; an exemption will be entertained. Work Performed Under the direction of the Clinical Director, the Speech‑Pathologist provides treatment only upon written prescription of a licensed physician. Major Tasks, Duties, and Responsibilities Screen, identify, assess, interpret, diagnose, and rehabilitate disorders of speech (articulation, fluency, voice) and language. Screen, identify, assess, interpret, diagnose, and rehabilitate disorders of oropharyngeal function (dysphagia) and related disorders. Screen, identify, assess, interpret, diagnose, and rehabilitate cognitive/communication disorders. Assess, select, and develop augmentative and alternative communication systems and provide training in their use. Assist with record keeping and charging system of the department. Discharge planning within the treatment program. Document evaluation, treatment plans, goals, progress notes, and discharge summaries of patients treated. Perform staff and nursing in‑service programs as needed on areas of relevant interest and need. #J-18808-Ljbffr
