Movement Disorders Neurologist (MD/DO) – Fairfax, VA, United States

Job Responsibilities

• Diagnose and manage patients with movement disorders, including Parkinson's disease, tremor, dystonia, chorea, and ataxia.
• Develop individualized treatment plans using medications, advanced therapies, and multidisciplinary care.
• Evaluate and administer botulinum toxin injections for dystonia, spasticity, and other movement disorders.
• Assess and manage patients for advanced therapies, including Deep Brain Stimulation, infusion therapies, and device programming.
• Collaborate with neurosurgeons, rehabilitation specialists, therapists, and primary care providers to optimize patient outcomes.
• Interpret neurodiagnostic studies and incorporate evidence‑based practices into clinical decision‑making.
• Educate patients and families about disease progression, treatment options, and long‑term management.
• Supervise residents, fellows, and medical students in clinical and academic settings.
• Participate in clinical research, quality improvement initiatives, and continuing medical education.
• Maintain accurate medical documentation and ensure compliance with institutional and regulatory standards.

Minimum Requirements

• Doctor of Medicine degree from an accredited institution; Board Eligible/Board Certified in Neurology and Fellowship Trained in Movement Disorders.
• Current unrestricted license to practice medicine in the State of Virginia.
• Ability to successfully complete credentialing for third‑party payors and enroll as a CMS Medicare/Medicaid payer.
• Successful completion of Medical Staff membership credentialing and appropriate clinical privileges sufficient to perform all required services.

Preferred Qualifications

• 2+ years of experience as a Movement Disorders Specialist.
