Austin Children's Dentistry Dental AssistantAustin Children's Dentistry is looking for a Dental Assistant in Austin, TX to assist our clinical team by providing a high level of patient care and satisfaction while operating in a team-based environment.Position Type: PRN / Temporary Part-Time Position Details: Temporary coverage for an employee on intermittent FMLA, approved through April 2027. Approximately 20 hours per week.Position Overview: As a Dental Assistant you are an integral part of the care team in providing support to the office and assisting the professional dental staff with treatment. Candidates must have at least 2 years of hands-on Dental Assistant experience to be considered.What we offer:Schedule: Monday - Friday, 8 AM - 5 PM, based on coverage needsApproximately 20 hours per weekFlexible scheduling optionsHealth, dental, and vision insuranceLife insurance and disability benefits401(k) planSupport for continuing education and professional developmentModern office with advanced dental technologyResponsibilities:Clinical Support: Prepare treatment rooms, sterilize instruments, and assist dentists during procedures.Patient Care: Welcome, comfort, and educate patients on oral hygiene and post-treatment care.Radiography & Diagnostics: Take and develop X-rays, assist with impressions, and maintain study models.Compliance & Safety: Ensure infection control protocols, maintain patient confidentiality, and follow workplace regulations.Maintain accurate patient records and documentation, including scheduling and patient intake (if needed)Helps dentist manage dental and medical emergencies by maintaining CPR certification, emergency drug and oxygen supply, and emergency telephone directory.Qualifications:2 years or more on-the-job-experience (with supporting documentation)X-Ray certificationNitrous Oxide certification is highly recommendedHigh school diploma or equivalentDental Assistant are also expected to maintain annual OSHA, HIPAA, CPR, and infection control training as required by law.Legal Disclaimer: We comply with all minimum wage laws as applicable.
