Desktop Support Engineer

Location : Detroit Metropolitan Wayne County Airport. Duration : 1 Year Contract with Possible Extension Work Type : 100% Onsite Any candidate with strong in-person desktop support experience in any industry or field is encouraged to apply. Candidates with hands-on onsite support experience in environments such as manufacturing, healthcare, logistics, retail, education, aviation, or corporate offices are welcome. Remote-only support experience will not be considered. Job Summary: We are seeking a Field Engineer/Desktop Support Engineer to provide onsite technical support for IT infrastructure and operational systems in an airport environment. This role involves hands-on support, troubleshooting, installation, maintenance, and relocation of IT equipment and related technologies. Candidates should be comfortable working in a fast-paced operational environment and interacting directly with end users, technical teams, and business stakeholders. Key Responsibilities: Provide onsite desktop and technical support for hardware, software, and peripheral devices Perform installation, move, add, and change (IMAC) activities for IT equipment Troubleshoot Windows workstations, printers, phones, and related devices Support network-connected devices and assist with basic network troubleshooting Configure and maintain office and operational technology equipment Support airline/airport operational systems and display equipment Handle equipment setup, replacement, and relocation activities Document issues, resolutions, and service activities accurately Provide excellent customer service and communication to end users Participate in occasional travel, after-hours support, weekend work, or on-call activities as required Required Qualifications: 2–5 years of hands-on technical support or field support experience Strong knowledge of desktop support, hardware troubleshooting, and Windows environments Experience supporting peripherals, printers, phones, or network-connected devices Familiarity with Microsoft Office applications including Outlook, Excel, and Word Strong verbal and written communication skills Ability to work independently and in team environments Comfortable working onsite in operational or industrial settings Preferred Qualifications: A+ Certification or equivalent technical certification Experience with deskside support or field service environments Previous airport, airline, manufacturing, healthcare, or enterprise support experience is a plus Additional Requirements: Candidates must be comfortable with background checks, fingerprinting, and drug screening requirements.
